ORANGE
The rolling hills which make up the almost 18 square miles of Orange were once owned by he Paugusset Indians. In 1693 The Rev. Peter Pruden purchased these lands from the Indians for six coats, ten blankets, one kettle , twelve hatchets, twelve hoes, two dozen knives and a dozen small mirrors.
